Upon arrival, you will be picked up from the airport or border point and transferred to your hotel, where you’ll have some free time to relax. To experience the atmosphere of southern Kyrgyzstan, we will visit a popular local chaihana (tea house) to try samsa—a must-have dish in the South. Next, we’ll head to the central square, where you’ll see one of the largest monuments of Lenin, the former Soviet leader. A visit to Osh Bazaar is optional, as it is currently under reconstruction. Before sunset, we’ll visit Suleiman Mountain, a sacred site in the heart of the city, known for its religious significance. Here, you’ll also explore an archaeological cave museum. For the welcome dinner, we’ll dine at a traditional ethnic restaurant in the city center.
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll begin our journey to the next destination. Along the way, you’ll see a portion of Naryn, the longest river in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the town of Tash-Komur. After crossing a mountain pass, we’ll visit the stunning Burana Canyon, which translates to “tower.” If needed, we can stop at a local bazaar to stock up on supplies, as there will be limited access to large shops for the next two days. Upon arrival, you’ll check into the hotel and have time for lunch. Alternatively, we can stop for lunch near Jalal-Abad, where you can try lagman, a popular traditional dish. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to relax in a peaceful green garden. If you wish, you can take a short hike into the nearby forest. Dinner will be served at the hotel, which is the best in the area.
After breakfast at 9:00 AM, our driver will take you to the main lake within an hour. You’ll have some time to enjoy the breathtaking view before beginning a hike to the other five lakes. By noon, we’ll reach the third and fourth lakes, where you’ll have lunch by the water. Weather permitting, you can go swimming. If conditions allow, we’ll continue hiking to a panoramic viewpoint, where you can see several lakes at once—this spot has recently gained popularity on social media. By 5:00 PM, we’ll return to the car, and the driver will take you back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. Note: A lunch box will be provided.
After a good night’s sleep and breakfast, we’ll set off on a long but scenic drive, passing through stunning rivers, gorges, and mountains. We’ll depart no later than 9:00 AM, with our first stop along the Naryn River to take in an incredible gorge view in Karakul. After crossing the Kok-Bel Pass, we’ll visit the Toktogul Reservoir, the largest in the country. Passing through Toktogul city, we’ll enter the Chychkan Gorge, an area with a unique landscape not commonly found in Kyrgyzstan. Here, you’ll see a combination of a rushing river, green Tien Shan spruces, towering hillsides, and sometimes, snow-capped peaks. Lunch will be at a local café. Afterward, we’ll cross a 3,500-meter-high pass, which is often covered in snow. You’ll have the chance to stop and enjoy the view. Later, we’ll drive through Suusamyr Valley, a favorite spot for tourists due to its nomadic culture, herds of animals, and stunning landscapes. By evening, we’ll arrive in Kyzyl-Oi village, where you’ll have dinner and stay in a local homestay.
We’ll continue our journey along the Kokomeren River, passing through the recently established Naryn Geopark, known for its stunning canyons. For lunch, we can either stop at a local café or have a picnic snack on the way. We’ll drive through the Kara-Keche coal mining area before reaching the Son-Kol Pass. By 3:00 PM, we’ll arrive at a yurt camp near the lake. After checking in, you can take a short hike to a nearby hill for a panoramic view of the lake. Son-Kol is a vast alpine lake, 29 km long, surrounded by nomadic families, wild ducks, and herds of animals. After dinner, you’ll experience a starlit night sky—and, if lucky, a beautiful sunset before dinner.
After breakfast, we’ll leave Son-Kol and head towards Yssyk-Kol, the largest lake in Kyrgyzstan. We’ll stop in Kochkor town for lunch before driving along the 180 km lakeshore. A highlight of this day is a traditional eagle-hunting demonstration, where you’ll see how eagles hunt squirrels. You can even pose for a photo on horseback while holding an eagle. Before evening, we’ll visit Fairy Tale (Skazka) Canyon, famous for its colorful rock formations. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at a yurt camp near the lake.
Today, we’ll explore the eastern part of Yssyk-Kol Lake. After a 2-hour drive, we’ll reach Jeti-Oguz ("Seven Bulls"), a striking red rock formation that once served as a Soviet-era sanatorium. Next, we’ll visit Kok-Jaiyk, a famous green pasture with thousands of Tien Shan fir trees, planted during Soviet times. Here, you can take a 3–4-hour hike to a scenic waterfall. In the evening, we’ll arrive in Karakol city, where you’ll check into a local hotel. After dinner at an ethnic restaurant, we’ll visit Ak-Suu village to bathe in natural hot springs before returning to the hotel.
We’ll drive along the north shore of Yssyk-Kol for about 4–5 hours before reaching Chon-Kemin, where you’ll check into an eco-resort. After lunch, we’ll go horseback riding through the forest. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire and the fresh mountain air before heading to bed.
We’ll have a relaxed morning before driving two hours to Bishkek. After checking into a city-center hotel, you’ll have time for shopping or sightseeing. Our farewell dinner will be at a popular restaurant, often featuring live music with national instruments.
